Located in the South-eastern corner of the Iberian Peninsula, between the Valencian Community, Andalusia and Castilla-La Mancha, the Region of Murcia extends over a territory of 11,317 km2 (2.2% of the total area of Spain), bordering on the North with the province of Albacete; on the East with the province of Alicante; on the West with the provinces of Granada, Albacete and Almeria, and on the Southeast with the Mediterranean Sea.

The sun shines over 3,000 hours a year and there are two seas of warm waters on its coasts. In fact, its coast is known as the Costa Cálida and there you will find long beaches and small coves that offer a wide variety of leisure, sport and wellness activities.

Due to their chemical characteristics, the waters of the Mar Menor have curing properties. The high concentration of salts and iodine, the absence of waves, the shallow depth of its waters (7 meters maximum) and, of course, its outstanding weather both in summer as in winter, form a unique package that turns the Mar Menor into a great therapeutic remedy.

The analysis of its waters demonstrates that the ionic concentrations measured for some elements (magnesium, calcium, sodium, bromine, iodine and fluorine) are much higher than those of the Mediterranean. Consequently, thermal treatments with this type of saline water and the application of sludge produce a toxic particles’ removal, blood system activation and muscle relaxation, very suitable for cases of stress, rheumatic diseases, sciatica, lumbago and all kinds of skin and joint related conditions.
